"No decision" has been taken over the future of the Driver Vehicle Licensing Agency in Coleraine.
DOE Minister Alex Attwood was speaking after meeting UK Transport Minister Stephen Hammond.
It's feared the office could be closed - with around the jobs moved to Swansea.
Mr Attwood says he hopes to meet Mr Hammond soon for more talks.
