Armagh beat Tipperary yesterday in the Athletic Grounds to get off to a winning start in the National League.
Armagh trailed by 2 points as the game entered injury time managed to get 3 scores in a remarkable flurry of points, two from Michael McKenna and the winner from Jamie Clarke.
The final score was Armagh 2-8 (14), Tipperary 13 (13) points.
It was a similar story for Down.
Two late goals gave Down the win against Kildare when it looked like a lost cause.
Final score – Down 3-15 (24), Kildare 1-15 (18)
Clonduff camógs dream season can to an end yesterday with the ladies in yellow getting knocked out of the All-Ireland intermediate championship at the semi-final stage by Piltown of Kilkenny.
Clonduff played well, the score was level at half time and they were in the game right up until the last five minutes.
Final score Piltown 3-5 Clonduff 0-6.
In local soccer, Warrenpoint Town’s run of good form continues
